Community service through MAMCO is not designed to force young people into free labor. Our service program is geared towards teaching young people proper animal care techniques, and then empowering them to teach others. The goal is to help these young people learn leadership skills through the animals.
All scholarship students are required to participate in two hours of training. These hours do count towards community service hours.
Volunteers will learn:
- How to vaccinate dogs and cats
- Deworm dogs and cats
- Check temperatures of dogs and cats
- Basic dog training techniques
- How to teach others to train dogs
- How to create medical records
- How to be a leader in the community
